When I graduated from high school, (back in the good old days of payola) a B movie called Ski Party came out and the DJ's were pushing the star's records, Lesley Gore's Sunshine Lollipops and Rainbows and James Brown and The Fabulous Flames record Papas Got a Brand New Bag. Anyway, I don't remember when I noticed Mavin's name on the record but I have/had the 45 of Lollipops in my collection. The Way We Were was my favorite Hamlisch tune but Sunshine, Lollipops and Rainbows was his first hit.

Yeah, I remember Leslie Gore's version, but there was a guy that did it too and as I recall sounded something like Andy Williams
