I would think searching the PDF master file might yield better results because they're in alphabetical order, no?.
Yes, but the PDF master file doesn't have any links (as far as I can tell). It appears to be a list of the songs, but the only way to find them is either to a) browse through the entire "CHROMATIC TABS" section of the forum or b) search using the search function of the forum.
The problem is that the search function doesn't like words with less than 3 characters, so it's impossible to find a song like "If" that way. Also, even when you are able to find the song title via the search function, the link almost always takes you to the bottom of the discussion about those tabs. I have a similar problem with my (non-chromatic harmonica-related blog).
What I'm making is a copy of the master PDF file, except if you click on any song it takes you directly to the page with those tabs on it.
Another problem with the search function is that it's not very forgiving of mispellings, unlike Google. So I couldn't understand why I wasn't finding "Every Time We Say Goodbye" until I figured out that the song is spelled "Ev'ry Time we Say Goodbye". So, on the PDF master file, the song is listed as "Every Time we Say Goodbye" but if you search for that you'll get nothing.
Once we have a master PDF file with links, every time you revise it, there's only a 30 second procedure to add the new link (which I will be happy to do).
It is taking me longer than the 1 page per day that I thought, though, because I've been so busy with the end of the school year. I'm now 4 pages into the 8 page master list, so it'll be ready next week.
