Introducing..................me
« on: June 03, 2012, 07:57:55 AM »
Greetings from sunny Manchester 8) UK.

I live here with Harvey the hairyest dog in the world, a big collection of sci-fi books and a car held together by its paint.

I did buy a Honer cx-12 about 3 years ago, but made the mistake of taking it to work where it "disappeared".  Finally got around to replacing it, this time with a Suzuki SCX 56.
Now all I have to do is practice and become rich and famous!

Oh yeah, same goes for my three guitars, violin and clarinet.
If I don't have a plan I can't fail.

HI JINXTER,

THIS SLIDEMEISTER SITE IS THE PLACE TO BE.

YOUR CAR SOUNDS LIKE MY TRUCK.
CHECK-OUT SPAH.ORG.
LIKE TO SEE YOU AT THE SPAH CONVENTION IN TEXAS THIS YEAR. LOTS OF SEMINARS & ONE ON ONE TEACHING. YOU'LL GIVE THAT SUZUKI A WORK-OUT.
SUZUKI USA WILL BE IN THE VENDOR AREA ALONG WITH HOHNER & SEYDEL. GOOD PLACE TO TALK WITH THEIR TEC'S.

We both drive the same kind of car and I also have an SCX-56, but haven't had a dog since i got out of the junkyard business in 82.

You sound like a perfectly "normal" Chromatic player! You're gunna do just fine here! Gimme a yell if you ever need anything that's not on the menu.  ;)

Thanks guys;

Would love to visit Texas LJ but at 4500 miles it's not on my agenda just yet (I'm in the United Kingdom).

If you ever get over to Austin TX my favourite band play regularly at the Continental Club.  They're called "The Hot Club Of Cow Town", (cowboy swing/jazz). Hoping to catch them over here in November.

Cheers!

Howdy and welcome friend!
I have all the above (except I play a Hohner).
I'd love to be able to afford the SPAH trip.
See you there some day.

When Whit and Elana were living in San Diego, I played an opening of a water park with another band, and Elana was playing with an ensemble, we got to jam--I'm a fan as well, saw them here locally half a dozen years ago.
She usually dresses up, here they are in a casual setting--she's still killing me!

Thanks for the link Gnarly
It was about six years ago when I first met her too, playing a club in Chorley Lancashire. Wow she's cute!
They usually tour a few towns in the UK every year. Wish I could get over to Austin though.

She's cute, and nice, and plays her fanny off.
Whit is equally talented, and also handsome.
I don't think they are an item anymore.

When In Rome (Do As The Romans Do) ( a visitor should try to act as the people do who are from that place ... )

People from different places have different ways of acting, so it is important to try to do things the way people do who are from the place that you are visiting.
Example: "Are you sure we can eat this with our hands?" Reply: "Why not? All of these people are. When in Rome, do as the Romans do."

From GoEnglish Idioms.

---and in this house,  button burgers are the burger de jour.

Just my personal opinion, but actually, I'd rather just see what folks look like. Just a head shot, cropped with nothing but a smile (and heck, even that's optional)  Harumkas do a great job of hiding about a third of our faces. Add to that, most folks wanna put up a mugshot that's 20 years old, so we're always shocked when we meet each other at a convention or somethin'
Hey, we can't all be Dick Clark or worse yet: "Dorian Grey"  ;D Ha ha!
