Embossing

(1/1)

A.J.Fedor:
Reed slot embossing =?

Gorfalamu:
Embossing (burnishing, sizing); closing the gap between reed and reedplate slot edge by bending over the reed side edges of the slot.  Tighter reed slot tolerances decrease air leakage and yield faster response and compression.

John Broecker:
Hello, No-men claturists.

Here's a list of non-existant (until now) harmonica terms:

Embassing = Losing your MK at the Gondolian Embassy.

Gaffing = Laughing at the poor gapping job done by a non-skilled craftsman.

A line mint = a string of peppermints.

Skray ping = Scrape, then ping a reed.

Log jam = stuck slider on a wood comb slide harp.

Wind surfers = harmonica players.

Slide minders = slide harp players.

Best regards

John Broecker
