PERSONAL MESSAGES (read this or loose'em)
« on: February 06, 2012, 04:38:53 PM »
Ever send a personal message and the other member never got it? Sure you have! Ya know how I know? CUZ I GOT'EM! Personal Messages (A really cool integrated feature)

Using PMs or the "personal message" feature to shoot your thoughts and stuff to other members "under the radar," (as it were) and it's a great (fun, safe and very private) way communicate with "OtherMeisters." (no one sees your email except the person you "PM")

HOWEVER, There is one exception to this: Whenever you get a personal message from another member, you will receive an email from the system alerting you. This message will show up in your regular email program, like Outlook, Windows mail, Thunderbird, LiveMail, Mac mail, etc.

Besides a copy of the message that was sent to you, it also reads:
"IMPORTANT: Remember, this is just a notification. Please do not reply to this email." Then it gives you a link to follow to respond to the message.

If you ignore that message and answer it right from there, a copy shows up in my personal mailbox as if it was addressed to me; and I always read all my mail. That gets sticky. A few times I simply informed the sender, but in a couple other cases (when they were talking about me :)) While it was amusing, :) I felt too awkward to let the writer know that I got the note he was sending to the other guy. So, if you ever answered a PM right from your email program, and wondered if I might have seen it, quit wondering! ha ha !

It's okay, I still love ya!

Simply send and receive your PMs from inside the forum, and you can talk about me with total impunity. :) ha ha !

The greatest satisfaction, is laying a firm foundation with the bricks others have thrown at you.

Yep!  It all goes under the radar IF you answer and post from the PERSONAL MESSAGE page.  I couldn't read it if my life depended on it. If you get a notification in your email, that you have a personal message from another member and you just click "reply to sender" from your email program, that person never gets your answer; I DO. :-X (and I don't read other folks' mail, so I just delete it immediately) The end result is that the person who sent you the personal message, thinks you are ignoring them.
