New Members/Players, Guests, Lookers and "Tire kickers"

Hello There, and welcome to SlideMeisterForums.

As you will soon see, there's plenty to see, hear and learn at SlideMeisterForums. There are however many more cool features  that can be accessed only as a SlideMeister member. 

No, it's not scary or complicated; it's actually quick and easy. As a member, you can still be a proverbial "fly on the wall," no one is ever required to post or even tell us who they are. (of course you will be deleted if you you don't at least stop and visit at least once every six months of so - we aren't interested in "numbers," just participants and readers)  Being a "Fly on the Wall" (less than 15 posts) is totally up to the individual. But for now, you can just read your way around this forum a bit, kick a few tires and stuff, and you'll see that this is unlike any other harmonica forum out there. The members are friendly, helpful and just plain fun to hang out with. I used to say "Hundreds of friendly people (with a few "soreheads" under control)" but you know what? We don't even have "soreheads" anymore - they've either left on their own, or got better. Friendly people always have that effect on "soreheads."  :)   While it's true, that we have a few certifiable lunatics floatin' around, that's another story, and so far, they've never actually hurt anyone.  ;D

At any given time, we may have up 75+ "guests" on this forum and as little as four members. Wow! That's quite a contrast. As I write this, while there are just 7 members on line, there are 30 guests crawling around here too. So, while there a lot of guests, why not join the fun as a member? Signing up only takes about a minute or two (cuz we do expect you to read the guidelines) Approval anywhere from a few minutes to a couple hours (depending on who's "watching the store" and when)  ;)  Don't worry, no one's ever going to sell your email address (besides, I wouldn't know how to even if I wanted to. :))  In fact, as a member, you can even choose to hide your email address from the world, if that's a concern for you. Sure, you'll still get a lot of SPAM, but none as a result of being a SlideMeister member.  Besides all that, you'll get a chance to ask that question, you've been hoping someone else would ask (so you don't have to join  ;))  Feeling silly yet?  I hope so! Come on in! The conversation's fine! The only thing missing is you!

New SlideMeister member, or even a new Chromatic player, or both? Great! Either way DO NOT be afraid to ask questions. Getting questions answered can (and this is no exaggeration) save you years of doing things the wrong way. Don't be afraid to ask a particular question assuming everyone knows the answer and you think you'll look like an idiot. F.T.R, Human nature shows that some people inherently think other people are idiots for a bunch of reasons, but for some reason, that's the one personality type that stays away from this group, so don't worry; no one here will think less of you for asking questions. We all have to (or had to) start somewhere. SlideMeister didn't get to be the world's premier harmonica group by acting like all the others. We won't "talk anyone down" or "talk down" to anyone, and won't tolerate anyone who ever tries. (that's an assurance to decect folks as well as a warning to potential trouble makers 8) )

Remember: This is not just another "Harp" group; This is SlideMeister, and if you're here, you're "family" so, ask away! Just pick a category and post your question.
