Hi, I'm am a member of a new harmonica trio named, Triple Treble. We have three videos up so far and are hoping to have more up soon.

The link to our channel is http://www.youtube.com/user/TheHarmoniguys

If the link doesn't work just search "TheHarmoniguys" in youtube search and that should bring up the channel. (Its called the harmoniguys because that's what we were originally going to be called.)

Hear is my first Garageband mix , " The Days of Wine and Roses " from Marvin Gaye's " The Balladeer " CD. Marvin has some really great standards on this album, I've had it for over 20 years now and have always loved the arrangements on it. I just got a new Macbook Pro with with GB 11 on it so I'm just playing around. It's my tribute to my two favorite artist, Stevie Wonder and Marvin Gaye. It's kind of what I picture the song sounding like had they did it together. Currently , I'm working on the Stevie technique of adding the same piece over the one that's laid down only an octave higher. That will probably be my next post. I've also got a couple of new CX12's, so I'm using the Gold in C on this piece. My other CX is in F and it's taking a little while to get used to it. I'm just learning how to use the tools in Garageband so, hopefully I can post a more refined piece the next time around. Anyway, baby steps. It's a start. Garageband is great for this kind of stuff, it's very affordable and seems easy to use. I'm a PC Tech and I wish I had spent more time with Mac, they've got a lot of cool stuff.

Age:  When I go to the Slidemeister You Tube site, I can only view 18 videos.  There is an additional 6 videos in which the top half of the picture shows, not the bottom of the picture nor the title.  Below these are the sections to subscribe. a profile. recent activity section, etc.
In the past when I got down to this section there was a way to raise an additional group of videos, and then another group.  That is no longer possible.
Is this the way it is supposed to be?  I believe there are supposed to be more than 24 videos by slidemeister members.

Regards,
Gene Dodson

Click on "ALL" then near the top right, click "Uploads" and you'll see over a hundred videos listed. Oh yeah, and we have some more coming. :)

Thank you, Age.  I found the missing videos and just played several of them.

By the way, do you - or anyone - know what kind of chromatic Tobias Volkamer plays in that neck rack?  Just curious.

Jim, your performance of Days of Wine and Roses on youtube inspired me to change my other mind and play that, instead of Blue Velvet at a solo gig I did last Saturday night. I practiced the former for about 30 hours--over the five days following that mind-change--and off in a remote corner of the building about three times shortly before I stepped onto the stage. I held the mic comfortably in my relaxed grip--port-side--and was just about to begin. . . when the MC stepped up to my stool, took the mic from my hand, and mounted it in a holder about a half-foot above my mouth. The Key of F remained at the lower elevation, and when I finally began to play (with only a small measure of success) it was like, well, it was like we used to say out in eastern Oregon: "That ruly blew my dress up." Chalk it up to humble pie. I felt absolutely criminal, although the roughly 200-person audience gave me gracious, albeit sympathetic, applause.
All that being said, I thank you profusely for your command performance of that gorgeous song on youtube; Mancine (and Mercer) would be proud, indeed.

Sincerely,
peterpaul

I don't get it--why did he do that, and why didn't you simply take it back out of the stand after he left you alone?
I am starting to hand hold a mike, normally I use my vocal mike, but I bought a Fireball for just such purpose . . . there is much to be said for holding the mike.

OK, This is my little contribution on chromatic, recorded at a blues harp showcase in Phoenix on December 8, 2011.  I know many of you will probably think, "not really playing chromatic" since it's in "D" with not a lot of slide use.  Anyway, for what it's worth, this was using my cbh2016, a Shure SM545 and my 1958 Fender Pro amp with a Lone Wolf delay. Here it is, with apologies to the real chromatic players on the list (who I have a lot of respect for, by the way):

Incidentally, the 2nd tune is of course not on chromatic, sorry, but I didn't think to split them into two videos.

Being that my english isn't so good, I was afraid of spamming the wrong place...
Here's some link.
Obviously, in the web there's much more than this, but I have chosen videos of different kind.
I really hope you can enjoy them! :)
